• Performance-based
• Half hour Exhibitions, quarterly, presenting learning progress and accomplishments, by each student to their learning team
• Hour-long Gateway Exhibitions, presenting learning progress and defending readiness for advancement to next level (Phase)
• Narrative teacher evaluations, including assessments of Habits, quarterly with annual compilation
• Credit given based on learning demonstrated through writing, projects, portfolios, and presentations

Faculty

All staff serve in a teaching relationship with students, including the administrative assistant, tutors, and IT staff. MC2 is a learning community in which each individual contributes to another’s learning regardless of position, degree or age.

Schedule

Annual: Year-round with four quarters: each comprised of 10 weeks on, 3 weeks off.
Weekly: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are academic days; Tuesdays and Thursdays are Internship days

Community

Student Body

Students are admitted between the ages of 13 and 18. The admissions process requires visits, essays, and an interview. All students are individuals who are committed to purposefully furthering their learning and to take responsibility for their growth, education, and future. The student body is representative of the enrollment populations of the area high schools.

Graduates’ Post-Secondary Choices

Our first two full program graduates graduated in June, 2006. They each received several scholarships, and successfully graduated in four years from Westfield State College in Massachusetts and Cedarcrest College in Pennsylvania. Since then graduates have attended and graduated from institutions as diverse as Full Sail University, Husson College, Keene State College, Houghton College, Marlborough College, Yale University, University of Massachusetts Amherst, Maine College of Art, and Boston Conservatory at Berkeley.
